From Homer’s classic tale to the big screen, The Odyssey has captivated audiences for centuries. Now, experience this epic adventure as only opera can tell it—in a thrilling 50-minute production perfect for the whole family!
Ben Moore and Kelley Rourke’s Odyssey brings Greek myth to life in a vibrant, family-friendly 70-minute adventure. This imaginative world is inspired by Rick Riordan’s beloved fantasy series that introduces young readers to Greek gods and characters through the eyes of the demigod Percy Jackson. Blending fantastical adventure with contemporary energy and large-scale puppetry, this production reimagines the timeless journey of Odysseus for a new generation.
Featuring WNO’s Youth Chorus alongside the Cafritz Young Artists and presented with orchestra in an intimate theater setting, Odyssey offers an exciting and accessible introduction to opera for families and first-time audiences alike.
