The next 70 years

In celebrating the past seven decades and looking toward the future, our Board, staff, artistic leadership, and artists are deeply committed to continuing to produce world-class opera with the best and brightest talent, and to do so for another 70 years and beyond.

Our Commitment

  • To ensure continued artistic excellence and innovation through the quality and range of our productions and seasons;
  • To build the future of opera by producing new American works, expanding opportunities for the WNO Cafritz Young Artists and alumni, and sustaining and expanding programs for students and young audiences;
  • To serve the community through education programs and partnerships that strengthen our commitment to cultural diplomacy and connecting the greater Washington, D.C. community.
